Medway operates the Medway Test for entry to its grammar schools, which include Rochester Grammar School, Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School, Chatham Grammar, Fort Pitt Grammar, Holcombe Grammar and Rainham Mark Grammar. Places at these are allocated on test performance rather than catchment distance. Medway's non-selective secondaries continue to allocate on distance.
